From Turkey’s Industrial Heart to European Expansion
Gimas Malta Heavy Industries Ltd. is a strategic expansion of Gimas Girgin Makina, a pioneer in engineering and industrial fabrication headquartered in İzmir, Türkiye. Founded on February 5, 1976, by Senior Mechanical Engineer Şamil Girgin, it began as a small workshop specializing in steel structures and pressure vessel fabrication.

Established with steel construction and part manufacturing.
Expanded to a 6,000 m² workshop in Menemen, producing pressure vessels for refineries.
Relocated to İzmir Atatürk Organized Industrial Zone (A.O.S.B.), entering the machinery sector and beginning exports.
Focus shifted to cement and mining machinery, entering international projects.
Became one of Turkey’s top three machinery exporters; expanded into nuclear, thermal, and especially wind‑turbine components.
Construction of European production plant in Malta started, Procurement center in Germany is in operation.
